Clinical Simulations

Annabelle is a 4-year-old with a diagnosis of propionic acidemia and mixed receptive-expressive language disorder who uses a speech-generating device to communicate. Annabelle receives speech therapy services in both an outpatient clinic and therapeutic horse riding center. You are the speech-language pathology practitioner assigned to provide Annabelle’s intervention at the therapeutic riding center in conjunction with her therapeutic riding instructor.

Kenzie is a 6-year-old referred for an assessment by your supervising speech-language pathologist due to concerns regarding her language and literacy skills. You are assigned to administer the Assessment of Literacy and Language (ALL) and report your findings.

Diego is a 3-year-old who is referred for a developmental screen by your supervising speech-language pathologist. You are assigned to administer the Developmental Assessment of Young Children, Second Edition (DAYC-2) and report your findings. This simulation is presented in partnership with PRO-ED.

Arren is a 5-year-old nonmainstream speaker referred to you by your supervising speech-language pathologist due to language concerns. You are assigned to complete the Diagnostic Evaluation of Language Variation with Arren and report your findings.

Christopher is a seven-year-old who was referred for an evaluation due to language concerns. Christopher's referral indicates that he is a nonmainstream speaker. You are assigned to complete the Diagnostic Evaluation of Language Variation with Christopher and report your findings.

Hadley is a 5-year-old with speech sound and expressive language disorders. You are assigned to work with Hadley, targeting both speech and language goals. Complete your intervention and then report your findings to your supervising SLP.

Hadley is a 5-year-old who was referred to your private practice for a speech and language evaluation. You are the speech-language pathologist assigned to complete her evaluation.

Leah is a 4-year-old with a diagnosis of autism. She attends weekly therapy at a private clinic and was referred to you for an AAC assessment. You are a speech-language pathologist at an outpatient clinic assigned to complete her augmentative and alternative communication evaluation.
